Self-directed (=independent, autonomous) learning is learning initiated and directed by you, the learner. You are responsible for your own learning.
Learners who take the initiative in learning and are proactive learners learn more and better than passive learners (reactive learners) who expect the teacher to tell them what to do and when.

Take the Getting Started course, in which you will practice your English skills as well as learn how to manage your time, how to plan your study sessions, how to set goals, etc. You will also learn a lot of practical ways of how to practice English in your daily life, your personal language learning environment.
